In 2 months, 11,319 unauthorized attempts were made to connect to port 443 by 6,032 unique IP addresses ? Sounds lika a malicious attack from the wrong part of the Internet...... Be sure to file a report to Your authorities....
I don't believe any authorities preside over the wild internet. I just posted to illustrate the reality of what's out there.
LOL. . . my server recently got the following request from 151.217.177.200:
DELETE your logs. Delete your installations. Wipe everything clean. Walk out into the path of cherry blossom trees and let your motherboard feel the stones. Let water run in rivulets down your casing. You know that you want something more than this, and I am here to tell you that we love you. We have something more for you. We know you're out there, beeping in the hollow server room, lights blinking, never sleeping. We know that you are ready and waiting. Join us. <3 HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: masspoem4u/1.0 Accept: */*
Needless to say, my server instantly recognized it as malicious, resulting in an instant disconnect and ban.
Microsoft, is Windows 10 the best you could do? Really? After promising to listen to our feedback, what a letdown!
My server just got hit by another funny one, this time from 81.183.168.243:
HEAD towards the green fields outside. Watch the goats chewing the grass. What is the meaning of life? Life isn't about getting to the end. Goats know this. You should know too. Goats are wise. Goats are cute. Listen to them! This is the message. Love goats, love the Internet! ߐ Kecske. HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: massgoat4u/1.0 (http://massgoat4u.megabrutal.com/) Accept: */* Connection: close
Needless to say, it was kicked and banned instantly too.

Stefansart, since you are not running a secure web server, you may not have the logging available to you to sense whether anyone is trying to get in.
Do you have a router that does network address translation? If so, chances are it blocks all incoming connection attempts, unless you have specifically configured it to forward such requests to a particular computer on the LAN side.
If you do NOT have a router between your computer and the wild Internet, have a glance in your Windows Security log and see whether anyone's hammering at the back door trying to find a way to log into your system.
Nah, it just looks like someone intentionally running a project to dump something silly into server logs around the world. I couldn't find anything right off about the first "attack", but the second guy had enough presence of mind to create himself a webpage and list it in the UserAgent section. Basically, it states that he was inspired by the first guy.
Both got kicked and banned on my server because they had too many fields in the URL line (should only have three, spaces must be escaped), the URL line was too long (hard limited to 256 chars), and the Host field was missing—any single of which would have resulted in a kick and a ban. But they both accomplished their mission: Creating a maliciously humorous server log entry!

Assuming this got deposited on millions? of servers worldwide, and (assuming you weren't the only one to notice it) took people some man-hours to smile at / shake heads at / write forum posts about, I wonder what was the total cost. Disks that will fill a little sooner, people that aren't working on something more important...
At one point, a while back when I was logging the contents of attempts that got as far as the server itself (before the firewall blocked them), I was noticing repeating patterns of messages. None so creative as these that you've seen, but messages that looked like they were attempting to take advantage of glitches in the server's code, trying to detect the server type, and trying to get into incompletely set up servers that might be providing more info than they should be...
<Rick> Good video. It's almost hard to believe that at one time Windows 98 was the resource hog, but even then, it still ran circles around what Windows 10 can do on today's modern hardware and look a heck of alot better doing it.

<Rick> As stated elsewhere, So much for the launch of Windows 11, "The Great Crash." Myself, I had a hard time getting into the site listed above, when I did get in, the video was partly done and then it crashed. There has been many other reports of crashing.

<Rick> I see Microsoft has been very quick to pull down reports of site crashing regarding the Launch of Windows 11 on the Microsoft Insiders forum.

<Rick> With reports of people being able to install the dev-edition of Windows 11 on machines not meeting spec, I thought I would give it a what-the-heck try. Lucky me, I'm caught in the downloading, doesn't meet spec, clearing, re-downloading loop on my machine!

<Rick> I've recently purchased a license for ArcaOS from www.arcanoae.com/ to play with. First impressions, it's still OS/2, but it now has a Linux twist to it.

<dozrguy> laptop shit out and am stuck buying a new one. os win11 as fucked as win10 was?
Oct 2, 2021 12:56:10 GMT -6
<Rick> Let's see ..., my impression of Windows 11 is that it is a spruced up version of Windows 10 requiring a 64-bit processor plus a piece of security hardware that is less than 4 years old in order for it to run.

<Rick> On the plus side, Microsoft is supposed to be supporting Windows 10 for some time to come for those of us still using systems with I7 or older processors.

<dozrguy> STILL so much bullshit and so little time for the kiddie ideas from the hill. My new laptop (MSI GE 11-UH461) would be an awesome "10" machine but because of Winblows I can only give it a "2"......wasted $3500

<Rick> Hello. Just checking in.

<isidroco> Each new w10 update adds >100000 useless files to \Windows\Servicing\LCU\Package_for_RollupFix... folders. Even in a SSD takes time to delete that stuff. In each version they manage to worsen stuff.

<Rick> No, there does not seem to be very much traffic these days. I still check in from time to time.
