It's hard to believe that this wonderful new OS that Microsoft wanted us to test for them on the promise that they were going to listen to us this time around was unleashed to us 2-years ago.
Here we are, 54 official builds later, we are still trying to figure out how to make the best of it, but I think it's safe to say that none of us really want it . . .

Looking through my notebook....a trip down memory lane.
the original TP build 9841 MSFT actually provided a sha1 hash to verify ! HaHa
9860 Wow, i could still change system sounds with my own .wav file ! 9879 Feedback app NOT working, PUIS problems with some WD drives. 9926 Malwarebytes calls svcHost.exe(image file execution options) SECURITY HiJACK ! Anyone else remember the "whoops" builds that WU tried to download ? FBL Awesome1501 9933Pro failed at 0% ,same thing with 9934 & 9935.
10041 unImpressive The first of "multiple source" updates. DoSvc Recycle bin icon drawn by Satya's 8year old nephew ? 10049 Spartan, ugh 10061 Multiple source updates refuses to stay turned OFF 10074 Still SkyDrive code in system ! 10122 system tray icons screwed up 10130 Audio/video problems,Hub-Startmenu problems. 10159 Why won't the damn thing activate ? Call Ahmad 10240 RTM still can't play blueray video, Cortana is a deaf mute.

Whoops indeed. That was (and is) as clear a sign as could be seen that Microsoft has chosen not to be a serious software engineering organization.
Software developers are GOING to make mistakes. It's part of the price of doing business with incredibly complex systems. Systems so complex that you need computers and discipline to even begin to deal with them.
That's why serious, professional software engineering organizations put things like testing in place. Unit testing, integration testing, system verification testing. Not to mention documentation, standards, and a whole host of other difficult-to-accomplish-but-well-worth-it things.
No one in their right mind would release software from the engineers' desks to users. That anyone thinks it's acceptable today says that decision making power is in the hands of the wrong people, and is no less than the root cause of why we no longer see advances to the state of the art. You can't build on something that's not finished!

Another pandering meandering post from our ol' buddy freakman. His mission statement reads: " I'm smart, you're not. I may patronize you if i can find the time."
turdman is still there posting the same junkola over and over, I think it's a Bot
That would explain the gibberish generating keyboard.
Bayer and I had this discussion quite some time ago and came to the same conclusion. When he speaks, it's legalese gibberish that does not show any emotion. All too often, one can see the little tricks in play that are designed to turn the conversation back towards the person who is asking the question. I've seen him mostly on the general MS Win10 forums after Windows 10 was released to the public, but he is starting to show up here and there again on the Insiders forum.

One thing i know for sure, No one else on that forum has the juice to get people banned like freakman. Tangled with him three times and lost three MSA's as result. Might as well be Satya himself.
""It's no bot. Microsoft doesn't have the kind of programming expertise to be 110% asshole all the time 24/7. That takes natural talent!""
Judging by the terrible substance(windows) they been spewing out their asses for the last 4 years (release date of win8 to present)to the general public. I, for one, would have to say: they are 1000% asshole and 0% commonsense
Speaking of Mr freeman. his mouth, (fingers in this case) may get him in some serious trouble one of these days!

there really IS NOT a thing MSFT does well anymore. anything they do anymore is just a "cobbled together" mess! i really dont understand how they can still be successful with a business model like that
I really had enough of the MSFT surface commercials and how they are the "answer' to all humanity's problems. Just yesterday i saw one about the NFL using the POS. I read things differently and so does the Patroits coach, i be guessin

> In 2014, Microsoft signed a $400 million deal with the NFL to ensure that its Surface tablets would become "the official tablet of the NFL." > > Microsoft wanted coaches and players to use its systems from the sidelines.
So then the telemetry and other user / usage / document / program tracking becomes a source of bootleg playbooks from other teams also the gamblers will be interested getting their hands in this
MS will sell this data either outright or on the sly
I find the lack of configuration options disturbing !
I felt a great disturbance in the force.. as if millions of win 7 systems suddenly cried out in terror.

The New England Cheaters, er Patriots, have probably already hacked this info.
Great post,Dozer ! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................Gawdam right ! The Nov8 "fix" will be available ! Anyone running a crappy install of 10 should be all warm n fuzzy safe n secure.
Another hmmmmmmmmmm...........What OS was the DNC/ HRC running by the way ? Does anybody know? Well, "Bleachbit" is Linux/Unix based. Iv'e used it quite a bit over the years. My guess would be that if someone had a private server in their basement and they wanted to wipe it "clean" then the OS would be 'nix based iOS.
Last but not least, Update/Super dooper Patch tuesday will be a busy day for us all !
Why would I want patches from a company that can't do any better than Win 10, all the while my workstation running the software made by their retired predecessors is able to support heavy duty Engineering work every day all day and still clock up this kind of 24/7 uptime without any glitches...
Not to mention my Win 7 server system that just works...
P.S., That's CLOCK32.EXE from Windows NT you see there - proof that there are things people could do in the 20th century that were right.

<Rick> Good video. It's almost hard to believe that at one time Windows 98 was the resource hog, but even then, it still ran circles around what Windows 10 can do on today's modern hardware and look a heck of alot better doing it.

<Rick> As stated elsewhere, So much for the launch of Windows 11, "The Great Crash." Myself, I had a hard time getting into the site listed above, when I did get in, the video was partly done and then it crashed. There has been many other reports of crashing.

<Rick> I see Microsoft has been very quick to pull down reports of site crashing regarding the Launch of Windows 11 on the Microsoft Insiders forum.

<Rick> With reports of people being able to install the dev-edition of Windows 11 on machines not meeting spec, I thought I would give it a what-the-heck try. Lucky me, I'm caught in the downloading, doesn't meet spec, clearing, re-downloading loop on my machine!

<Rick> I've recently purchased a license for ArcaOS from www.arcanoae.com/ to play with. First impressions, it's still OS/2, but it now has a Linux twist to it.

<dozrguy> laptop shit out and am stuck buying a new one. os win11 as fucked as win10 was?
Oct 2, 2021 12:56:10 GMT -6
<Rick> Let's see ..., my impression of Windows 11 is that it is a spruced up version of Windows 10 requiring a 64-bit processor plus a piece of security hardware that is less than 4 years old in order for it to run.

<Rick> On the plus side, Microsoft is supposed to be supporting Windows 10 for some time to come for those of us still using systems with I7 or older processors.

<dozrguy> STILL so much bullshit and so little time for the kiddie ideas from the hill. My new laptop (MSI GE 11-UH461) would be an awesome "10" machine but because of Winblows I can only give it a "2"......wasted $3500

<Rick> Hello. Just checking in.

<isidroco> Each new w10 update adds >100000 useless files to \Windows\Servicing\LCU\Package_for_RollupFix... folders. Even in a SSD takes time to delete that stuff. In each version they manage to worsen stuff.

<Rick> No, there does not seem to be very much traffic these days. I still check in from time to time.
