Mike: PC market share sees biggest decline in history amidst Windows 10 release. www.winbeta.org/news/pc-market-share-sees-biggest-decline-in-history-amidst-windows-10-release
So one plus one still does equal two, even with cloud first, mobile first. A self fulfilling prophecy? GIGO?
Mike: Mac is gaining market share as PC's are losing it? Curiouser and curiouser.
Noel: What do you do if you want your tablet hardware business to succeed? Try to kill the PC market.
Techie007: Mike, that's worth posting in a thread here.
So has anyone seen anyone, I mean anyone, introduced a new desktop PC?
New monitors are introduced to connect to laptops, tablets and phones.
Some new gaming video cards are introduced, from time to time perhaps.
No new software is introduced to take advantage of new processors, ssd's and graphics. No one has any non-mobile ideas anymore?
The Surface 4 is an odd device as a 12 plus inch tablet is really too big to comfortably use without it being docked. My ten inch tablet is uncomfortable to use.
The Surface Book is an odd device, not only because it closes like a three ring binder, is expensive like a Mac, but why isn't the lower half with the keyboard and gpu and optional attachment?
Corporations are all using Citrix and don't care about Windows anymore?
How is CAD and engineering work going to get done in the future?
MS's proof of concept premier App, Edge, is crap.
Intel Skylake processors crash when under heavy workload? Like a real PC workload not a mobile, content consumption, email and text workload? Can be fixed with a bios upgrade, really?
Intel recalled all the first batch of Pentium processors for a problem smaller than this. Different time, different place?
Insider builds for the last six months that don't display any noticeable changes?
Am attending a New Intel® 6th Gen Core™ NUCs and Compute Sticks webinar tomorrow. This is all Intel wants to talk about. But NUC's and Compute Sticks are mostly for display advertising signage, and retail customer spying, not for anything I would consider real work.
Just what the hell is going on out there? Rant off.
